August 3 – 14, 2006: Itafari Board President, Victoria Trabosh traveled to Rwanda to speak at the Humanitarian Day Project as part of FESPAD/World Culture Open. Her speech, titled: The Business of Passion reviews how businesses, especially NGOs must manage and grow their businesses. She described the 3 ways to accomplish the goals and dreams of any organization. During her visit she was also able to meet with the children sponsored by Itafari donors and work with all of the organizations within the country with whom Itafari partners.

May 2 - 30, 2006: Itafari Board President, Victoria Trabosh, traveled to Rwanda for the month of May to meet with local partners in support of a variety of programs including micro enterprise, education, music, widows and orphans. Ms. Trabosh also met with school children to provide pen pals for children in Portland. Last December, Mrs. Debbie Hushbeck's 5th grade class from Portland, Oregon raised $1,300 through the sale of ornaments for the children in Rwanda. As a result of Ms. Trabosh's visit, they will now be able to "meet" Rwandan children through letters and pictures and begin to form friendships that will last a lifetime. An online journal/log will be available on the Itafari website.
